Mike Kuckelman and Kathryn Lewis recently recovered a favorable settlement in a Florida aviation case. The plaintiff was severely injured when his airplane crashed at the airfield where he was taking flight lessons. The student pilot was making his first solo flight in an airplane that was not appropriate for a student pilot and the wind conditions were in excess of the recommended conditions for the student’s first solo flight. The combination of these dangerous conditions placed the student in a very dangerous situation which ultimately caused him to suffer severe injuries in the crash and ensuing fire. The matter has settled for $2,000,000.
