Mike Kuckelman Celebrates 25 Years with the KBA

Congratulations to KTKL’s Mike Kuckelman for recently celebrating the 25th anniversary of admittance to the Kansas Bar Association. On Thursday, June 18th the Kansas Bar Association held its annual Awards Luncheon honoring various members for their years of practice.

Kuckelman completed both his undergraduate (’86) and Law School (’90) education at Washburn University in Topeka, KS.  In the 25 years since his graduation, he has led a diverse and successful career. Starting as an associate at Blackwell Sanders (now Husch Blackwell), Kuckelman eventually was sent to build the firm’s litigation practice in Europe, staying a total of 7 years in England. Following his time overseas, Kuckelman relocated back to the Kansas City Metropolitan area where he eventually became a founding partner in Kuckelman Torline Kirkland & Lewis, where he has been since 2012.

One of Kuckelman’s most notable successes was his work in the litigation of the World Trade Center cases in 2002. As one of the lead attorneys appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Kuckelman helped negotiate a $1.2 billion settlement for the plaintiffs, which is the largest recovery of this nature in history.

KTKL is pleased to have an attorney such as Mike Kuckelman lead the firm. His expertise and upstanding character make him a valued addition to any work place, and KTKL is proud of what he has accomplished in the last 25 years of practicing law. The firm looks forward to what he is able to do in the years ahead. Congratulations again on an outstanding 25 years!
