KTK Welcomes Summer Clerk, Nick Slovikoski
KTK is excited to announce one of its 2018 Summer Law Clerk positions has been accepted by Nick Slovikoski. Currently a student at University of Kansas Law School, Nick also completed his undergraduate at the University of Kansas (2017). He graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies in Sociology with minors in Applied Behavioral Science and Business. Nick was on the Dean’s List for four semesters in addition to being a member of the Student Conduct Hearing Panel, Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honors Society, Dole Institute of Politics Student Advisory Board, KU ACLU, Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity (Pre-Law chapter) and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
Since beginning his law school career in the summer of 2017, Nick has been involved in a number of programs at KU School of Law. He is a member of the KU Law Trial Association, Federalist Society, Christian Legal Society, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Advisory Board in addition to serving as a volunteer for the DACA Renewal Clinic. Nick is an International Law Society 1L Representative and earned a CALI award for Civil Procedure. CALI Awards are granted to the student with the highest grade in the class, as determined by the professor, and over 100 law schools participate in the CALI Excellence for the Future Award Program. Most notably, Nick also received the Jayhawk Scholarship, which provides full-tuition for its recipients.
In addition to his involvement at KU, Nick is active in the surrounding Lawrence area. He volunteers with both Natural Ties and Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence. Natural Ties is a group that works to foster friendship and inclusion between individuals with and without disabilities by facilitating outings between KU students and individuals with developmental disabilities in the Lawrence community. The Boys & Girls Club is a nationwide service that provides various programs and education opportunities for disadvantaged children.
