Injury / Wrongful Death

 

  • Auto accident / personal injury: Obtained $7.5 million on behalf of a 5-year-old whose mother was killed by a drunk driver in a single car-rollover crash. As the case couldn’t be filed as a wrongful death claim, we made the trial about our client’s emotional distress and long-lasting psychological damages resulting from the trauma of the case and prevailed on all claims. 

 

  • Wrongful death of 16-year-old:  Obtained $5 million for the mother of a 16-year-old student that was run over by a First Student bus driver. This is believed to be the largest settlement for the death of a minor in Buchanan County, Missouri history.

 

  • Bicycle injury:  Obtained $1 million for an avid cyclist after he suffered catastrophic injuries when the handlebars on his Bianchi bicycle broke causing him to crash.  We showed the client’s expensive “Italian-made” bicycle had actually been built in Taiwan. 

 

  • Medical negligence / wrongful death:  Recovered a cash payment plus financial benefits payable over 25 years for two young children that lost their father after he suffered a traumatic brain injury and died in the hospital. We settled with the father’s neurosurgeon for failing to timely diagnose and treat the father’s head injury.

 

  • Wrongful death / fire:  Recovered a substantial settlement for surviving family members after a mother and three children perished in a tragic house fire. The landlord failed to maintain working smoke detectors in the home and failed to repair inoperable windows, making escape impossible.

 

  • Motorcycle injury / Bad faith:  Obtained $700,000 for our client after he was injured while stopped at a red light on his motorcycle. There was $150,000 insurance coverage available but after a trial and filing a bad faith claim against an insurer, we recovered $700,000 for our client.

 

  • Auto accident / personal injury:  Recovered $700,000 for our client after she suffered spinal and head injuries in a car crash in the Colorado mountains.

 

  • Bicycle / personal injury:  Recovered $300,000 after SUV crashed into an avid cyclist training for an Ironman

 

  • Auto accident / personal injury:  Recovered policy limit of $350,000 for our client when she was injured in a one car accident when the driver fell asleep.

 

  • Auto Accident:  Recovered $150,000 for our client who was thrown through a car windshield in a one-car accident in a parking lot.

 

  • Trucking accident:  Recovered $125,000 for truck driver who suffered a back injury when another truck driver attempted to pass him on a snowy road and clipped his truck causing a jackknife.  

 

  • Golf cart accident:  Recovered $125,000 for golfer injured on golf course when fellow golfer drove golf cart into him.
