Jennifer Salva Named Weigand of the Year
KTK attorney Jennifer Salva was named Weigand Alumni of the Year by The J.L. Weigand, Jr. Notre Dame Legal Education Trust at the organization’s virtual open house on Saturday.
The Weigand Trust provides scholarships to law students in the Top 10 percent of their class from Washburn University School of Law, The University of Kansas School of Law, and Notre Dame Law School who are dedicated to practicing in the State of Kansas.
Jennifer received the Weigand scholarship in 2018 and 2019. After graduating from Washburn Law, she serves as mentor to current law students in the Trust’s mentorship program, and serves as the Trust’s Communication Director, keeping the strong alumni network of Kansas attorneys connected through the WeigandWire e-Newsletter.
Previous KTK summer law clerk Katherine Davis was also a Weigand Scholar.
The J.L. Weigand Notre Dame Legal Education Trust is a Wichita, Kansas based 501(c)(3). When Wichita attorney John L. Weigand Jr. died in 2002, he left his lifetime earnings to establish the trust for the benefit of Kansas residents attending law school, who would in turn practice law in Kansas for the betterment of its citizens.
